AI in action: Mercer automates operational due diligence with Resolve

We’re pleased to announce that Mercer has successfully gone live with Resolve’s new AI solution designed to automate one of the most manual, time-consuming parts of fund oversight: initiating Operational Due Diligence workflows from complex investment documents. A key part of the success was the integration into infrastructure and workflows Mercer already had in place with Resolve. The solution plugs directly into their investment data model, approval chains and due-diligence processes, meaning Mercer gains all the benefits of AI and LLM-driven processing without disrupting their existing operational framework.

Brian Walsh, CEO of Resolve said “This project is a great example of AI solving a real operational problem. Mercer already had strong governance and well-established investment processes. Our job was to automate the slowest part of that workflow without changing how their teams work. The combination of LLM-driven PDF parsing and seamless integration into their existing architecture is what really unlocked the value. We’re delighted to see it live and already delivering results.”

Justyna McNeive, Head of Operations, Mercer said “The high volume and variability of external investment documents have posed significant challenges for our teams. With Resolve, the system now efficiently ingests documents, accurately extracts the necessary data, and automatically initiates our due diligence workflows. This enhancement not only accelerates the process and improves accuracy but also allows our teams to concentrate on exceptions rather than manual data entry. As a result, we’ve improved our operational scalability.”
